MALAN ISLAND

Malan Island is located in the middle of a rait lake located in the village of Tumbang Banjang, Pulau Malan District, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, Indonesia.

The island with a radius of about 50 meters, is an island that can move on itself around the Rait Lake at certain times.

According to the story of local societies, the legend of an old grandmother named "Indu Handang" who lived and built a house at the foot of the Kereng Mangging hill, on the edge of the Rait lake, headwaters of the Banjang river. On the lake shores, Indu Handang built a bathing called "Lanting" It is said that Indu Handang also maintains a large turtle, which is tied to the lanting and the turtle was carrying the Lanting to move around.

Whether natural wonders or divine mysteries, the Lanting was "basaluh" or transformed into an island. Because of the island moveable, so this island is called "Pulau Malan" because the meaning of "Malan" in the Dayak Ngaju is "MOVE".

 

BEGANSAR ISLAND

In Kuala Buin Hamlet, there is a lake called "Bagut Lake" and above the lake there are several islands which can move on itself, called "Begansar Island"

It is said that, according to the story of local societies, there were 7 moving islands around the lake. But now there are only 2 islands left, because the 5 islands are no longer able to move. This is due to a people named "Bagut" tied the island to another island that is not moving, using the root of the semar bag, so that it cannot move anymore until now. That is why this lake is called "Bagut Lake"

Although the Begansar Island is not large, but it can accommodate and bring 40 peoples on it.

If you want to visit this island, it's better during the rainy season, because during the dry season, the lake is shallow and the island is difficult to move.

However, if you want to visit this island, keep calm and do not speak carelessly, especially when you hear a strange voice. Keep quiet, because it indicates that this island is about to move.

 

MIREMBE ISLAND

Next, we take a trip abroad, to Munyonyo Resort, the tourist area of ​Victoria Lake, Uganda. In ​​Victoria Lake, a camera ever caught and shocked several visitors of the Munyonyo Resort, tourist area of ​​Victoria Lake, Uganda in February 2016 it was due to the island across from where they stood, suddenly moved and hit the island, where Munyonyo Resort, the tourist area of Victoria is located.

The incident was recorded by several visitors of the resort. In this video, the movement of the island is clearly recorded, approaching slowly in a minutes.

Located in the middle of ​​Victoria Lake, an island with an area of ​ approximately 20 hectares is called "Mirembe Island" or "Jaja Magezi", can move freely. Initially this island was integrated with the Portbel mainland, but due to abrasion, this island was separated from the Portbel mainland.

EL OJO / “THE EYE” ISLAND

Although small, but it attracts the interest of researchers who see it because of its uniqueness. This island even made a documentary film. First discovered by a film director & producer Sergio Neuspillerm, some time ago through Google Earth.

At the time, Sergio looked for a film location for a film about psychics, ghosts and Alien. He chose "THE EYE" because it was considered unique and it could rotate by itself. This relatively small island is about 118 meters in diameter, and is surrounded by very clear and cold water. The bottom is hard but the top floats.
